Details
An intensive learning experience plus a fun vacation! This is a real course where you really learn something so you’ll need to do a little prep work and attend all 12 non-optional Classes. See What’s Expected of Me? Hatha (exercise) yoga classes are optional.
Fees
There are no fees for the course. It is paid for by an educational grant–see Frequent Questions. You would expect to pay a thousand dollars for a retreat like this so it’s an amazing opportunity! You pay only for your travel, food and lodging (and your textbook).
Location
The retreat is held at at the lovely North Shore Silent Meditation Garden on the bluff overlooking the spectacular North Shore of Oahu. Address is 59-318 Alapio Rd, Haleiwa, HI 96712.
Vacation Activities
If you are coming from off island plan to stay a few days before or after the retreat! There are loads of great things to do and see on Oahu and the scenic North Shore. Surf the net to get an idea.
Optional Yoga Activities
If you just can’t get enough yoga, take advantage of the optional hatha classes for all levels Tue – Sat mornings.
Accommodations
You have several options if you are coming from off island:
- Turtle Bay Condos: This is the choice of many folks coming from off island. Condos can accommodate multiple people. They are about a 17 minute drive to the course location so you’ll want to budget in a rental car too. Condos have garden or golf course views, not ocean views. Condo property manager: 808-293-0600–we have no special arrangements with them.
- Turtle Bay Resort Hotel: About an 18 minute drive from the course location this is the classiest place to stay on the North Shore but also the most expensive. Up to 4 people may share a double bed room. All rooms have ocean views. You’ll also need to budget in a rental car. Reservations: 808-293-8811–we have no special arrangements with them.
- Airbnb: Look for something near Pupukea on Oahu’s North Shore. Some of these listings may be illegal vacation rentals so beware.
- Friends / Family / Locals on Oahu: Be sure to plan on the commute time each day!
